Distinguished Service Award

The Selection Committee for the Distinguished Service Award has announced Douglas Knight as recipient for the 2008 award. Douglas Knight is Vandalia’s Police Chief.

Please consider this announcement as an official invitation to attend the Tuesday, January 27 6:30 PM Distinguished Service Award Banquet honoring Douglas Knight. The Banquet will be held at Celebrations II Banquet Center located at 7615 Poe Avenue (formerly the Red Lobster). Reservations are needed by January 20 – call Karen Ortega at 898-4018. The Vandalia-Butler Presidents Club "Distinguished Service Award" is presented annually to the person or persons with an affirmation to the Vandalia-Butler community who, in the opinion of the Award Committee of the Presidents Club, best meets at least one of the following qualifications:

1. The person(s) whose service to the community has benefited the greatest number of people.
    
2. The person(s) whose single act of service has been of the greatest benefit to the community.
    
3. The person(s) whose unselfish sacrifice of time, energy and resources has not been acclaimed or sufficiently recognized.
